What Does the Term 'Organic' Refer to?

You must have heard of the term 'organic', however, do you know its actual meaning? The term organic refers to the system of production that supports bio-diversity while promoting soil biological activities. This production system minimizes the harmful farming practices, aiming to maintain ecological equilibrium.

If we talk about the facts, then around 25% of pesticides and 10% of insecticides are used in cotton farming. Even though, cotton is natural, yet, it usually goes through several processes, so it can convert from cotton to cotton clothing. In the process of making it ready to be worn, cotton is treated with chemicals, brighteners, softeners and other toxins. Therefore, our single purchase of such clothing indeed encourages the apparels that are not at all eco-friendly.
  • Given below are three benefits of wearing organic clothing:
  • Apparels made from natural materials are ideal for all skin types. They never cause skin irritations, reactions or allergies, they are hypoallergenic in nature.
  • The use of organic clothing is helpful to lower down the increased level of pollutants. Unlike cotton, grown using non eco friendly practices, organic cotton does not harm the soil, air and water.
  • Apparels made from natural materials such as bamboo, hemp or cotton last longer as compared to inorganic apparels. Also, neither their colors get fade nor they cause skin irritation.
Due to the increasing demand of natural clothing, now manufacturers are also offering more varieties of all natural clothing to cater to the needs of their customers.
