Why is it Important to Switch to Organic Cotton Clothing?

Cotton is knows as the very reliable and  good basic and for all the right reasons. In many ways, it is the fabric of our lives – because we come in contact with it almost everyday with the clothes we wear, sheets we sleep  on and in fact some of the food we eat is also made out of cotton. But if you want to grow cotton conventionally, it will need large among among of pesticides. Growing this cotton leaves a lot of bad impact on the environment and people who work around it.  It may cost less this cotton to manufacture, but in order to improve the overall environment, one should always choose organic cotton clothing whenever possible. 

A lot of you might be wondering, what is organic cotton? According to the Organic Trade Association, organic cotton is grown without the use of pesticides or fertilizers. Some of the chemicals used to grow this cotton are also considered as some of the most toxic chemicals in the world and therefore the health risks of pesticide exposure include birth defects, reproductive disorders and weaker immune system.

There are a lot of countries where cotton is handpicked and therefore whosoever works in that area can easily come in contact with some of the most toxic chemicals which can also affect others in a community once they  seep into the water supply.
